The 2024 ' Limitless ' Edition 21 will push competitors to new and even higher limits.
The World's longest and hardest extreme enduro rallye will once again unite competitors from across the globe on July 23 -27, 2024.
Memories of Red Bull Romaniacs 2023 may seem very fresh still, the Edition 20 where the ' Impossible ' became possible by the toughest of competitors. However, keeping in character with the fast world of racing there is no opportunity to sit back, the time for reflection has passed, once again competitors will need to line up at the start - this time for the Registration flag to drop.
Many hopeful competitors set their alarms on Wednesday October 4. 2023 to pay their deposits to guarantee them a spot on the start line of 2024 Red Bull Romaniacs. Competitors Register HERE to get a starting place for the 2024 Red Bull Romaniacs hard enduro rallye
Whether you are in Australia having a post ride beverage, in Korea out on the town, Spain having lunch, North America sound asleep, Brazil having a morning coffee, or in Romania out riding, it is worth setting your alarms and reminders. Bronze Class hopefuls will need to shoot for the hole-shot as this class fills up extremely fast and is almost always sold out.
Selecting the right class is essential to having the ultimate race experience for which Romaniacs is so famous for, getting it wrong will result in either not becoming a finisher or at the other end of the scale, not getting the toughest hard enduro challenges that you signed up for. Descriptions on the website about picking the right class are concise and informative. Founder, Martin Freinademetz, highlights some points about class selection in his video. Amateur competitor footage from all classes can be watched HERE and the 2023 RBR LIVEnews reports have endless hours of footage from all five race classes to sift through.
Even once competitors have selected the right class there will no doubt be unexpected challenges to overcome, be it weather, for example the storm on Offroad Day 1 this year, mechanical issues, exhaustion, track conditions, factors that emphasise the strategy of "prepare for the worst and hope for the best". The five day event requires plenty of training for endurance as well as physical and mental preparation. Competitors may find themselves alone in the mountains and forests; preparation should begin even before registering in order to have the race every competitor hopes for. There is one guarantee for all competitors: they will experience five days of serious enduro bike riding, a race created by riders for riders.
Bronze competitors begin their ascent on Offroad Day 2
The focus of Track Director, Teo Isac, is to create suitable tracks for each ability level with minimal crossing over onto different classes' tracks and with the help of fellow track managers they are able to scout for and create good, consistent flow. During each of the four Offroad Days there will be almost 500 kilometres of tracks to meet the varying degrees of technical difficulty, this is a year round occupation as well as being snow dependant! Having had a good head start this year Teo Isac and his team have been able to explore and discover some new regions for the Edition 21.

Red Bull Romaniacs has seen a shifting of gears in the battle between the top athletes who all strive to be in the elite enduro group. Mani Lettenbichler (KTM, DEU) has dominated in the 2023 FIM Hard Enduro World Championships with a clean sweep of all four events so far and is apparently unlimited in his ability over recent years. There has been a rapid rise of more recent names in extreme hard enduro. Competitors like Trystan Hart (KTM, CAN), Teo Kabakchiev (Econt, BGR), Michael Walkner (AUS), Matthew Green (ZAF), Dominik Olszowy (POL) pose a real threat to the likely candidates, Mario Roman (Sherco, ESP), Billy Bolt (Husqvarna, GBR), Wade Young (Sherco, ZAF), Alfredo Gomez (Rieju, ESP) and the King of the Capathians, Graham Jarvis (Husqvarna, GBR), who holds seven Romaniacs victories compared to Mani Lettenbichler who has four titles. Mani Lettenbichler will be determined to defend his current title and claim his fifth victory at the Edition 21 of Red Bull Romaniacs.
Red Bull Romaniacs will be supporting the younger generation of up and coming enduro athletes who will be able to score points towards the FIM Junior Hard Enduro World Champonships in 2024. Matthew Green (ZAF) who placed tenth overall in the Edition 20 of Red Bull Romaniacs currently holds a strong lead in the 2023 Junior series.
Mani Lettenbichler: “I'm excited to return to Red Bull Romaniacs, it's one of my favourite races in the whole hard enduro calendar. It's just such a good ride and the tracks are unreal, out there on your own having an adventure - I think this is what makes it so special. The track managers make such a good job of building decent tracks that are rideable and crazy too! I hope I can have another win but we will see, anything can happen especially at this race. I feel like it is the hardest race to win so I am excited and looking forward to riding in the Carpathians again".
Graham Jarvis: "Red Bull Romaniacs is always one of my favourite events. I will return in 2024 with my team riders and so I 'may as well' ride! I'm not sure if I will make it onto the podium but it is definitely a big achievement to reach the finish and it's guaranteed to be a good adventure".
Martin Freinademetz: “This has always been a rallye created by riders for riders, competitors will be on their bikes for anywhere between five to eight hours a day and doing what they love the most. Amateurs will be crossing tracks with the top riders in the world on occasion and will be spending the five days amongst, not only the top professionals in the sport, but an enduro community which has extended to over 55 nations. We are curious to see which new nations will sign up this year, maybe Uzbekistan or Mongolia? We welcome all new and returning competitors to compete in our Edition 21 of Red Bull Romaniacs".
